Mexicans el steal a $2,000 barking parrot from el pet store

A pet store is offering a cash reward for the safe return of a pricey parrot who can bark like a dog.

Employees at Petland on Waters Avenue said a man went into the store Thursday and looked at some dogs and birds.

The next thing they knew, the man and Skittles the parrot were gone. Employees said it looked like a planned operation.

"They came here to steal. They might not have known what they were going to steal, but they came here to steal," assistant manager Deidra Rosenberg said.

Skittles is a Yellow-shouldered Amazon parrot who can say "I'm a Rottweiler" and bark like a dog. Rosenberg said the parrot is worth about $2,000.
